Generally, the weather in Mukteshwar remains pleasant throughout the year. Therefore, this place is ideal to visit any time of the year, depending on which weather you personally prefer.

Summer (April to June): Summer season in Mukteshwar begins in the month of April and ends in June. The days remain warm during this time and night are cool. This season is best to enjoy the scenic view of the place. Moreover, all adventure activities remain open during this time of the year.

Monsoon (July to September): This place experiences mild showers in the monsoon season. Hence, it’s ideal for enjoying the natural beauty of the place in rainfall. However, you cannot enjoy many outdoor activities in monsoon. So, if you want to trek or camp in this season, it’s definitely not a good idea.

Winter Season (October to January): Snow lovers, this is the best time to visit this place. Winter season in Mukteshwar is cold but perfect for sightseeing at its top attractions. The weather during this season ranges between 3°C to 17°C. The town also receives heavy snowfall, so it’s perfect to enjoy gazing at the snow-capped mountains that form the beautiful backdrop of this place.

By Air: The nearest airport from Mukteshwar is Pantnagar Airport, which is at a distance of 94 km. This airport is connected to Delhi with four flights a week. From the airport, you can hire a cab to reach the resort within a few hours.

By Road: Frequent bus services connect Mukteshwar to other parts of Northern India. You have a choice between public and private bus services, or to hire a taxi. You can also visit here by driving your own car. The nearest bus station is Haldwani, Volvo buses ply from ISBT Anand Vihar daily.

By Railway: Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest railway station from Mukteshwar. This railway station is connected to different towns and cities across the country. You can easily get a cab from the railway station to reach the resort.

Mukteshwar is popular for rock climbing and rappelling. You can visit the overhanging cliffs situated near Mukteshwar, known as ‘Chauli-ki-Jali’ for enjoying the thrilling activity – rock climbing. Paragliding is another popular sport at Mukteshwar for those who want to get a bird’s eye view of this place.

Trekking/hiking: Another good option for adventurous souls, as there are many trekking trails in and around Mukteshwar. You can trek from Peora to Mukteshwar or Peora to Almora as well as Binsar to Artola. Camping is also a fun way to spend time with your family and friends amidst the dense deodar trees.

 

Apart from all that, bird watching is a delightful activity here, as over 250 species of migrant and resident birds reside in this place. You can even spend a day while sightseeing neighbouring temples, lakes, and towns.
