The Kangra Valley, where Heritage Village Pragpur is located, is panoramic and replete with history. It is the home of the famous Kangra school of painting and probably the world’s – most certainly India’s – oldest ruling lineage comes from here. The core area of Pragpur is notified as a “Heritage Village”, and, along with the nearby village of Garli, the surrounding area is a Heritage Zone. Founded about 3 centuries ago Pragpur has held onto the essence of an earlier era – unchanged shops, cobbled streets, ornamental village tank, mud plastered and slate roofed houses. The State Government has classified Pragpur as a “Heritage Zone.”

About the Resort

Nestled in the heritage village of Pragpur in Kangra Valley, FLB Resorts Judge's Court is 300-year-old inherited property that’s set at an altitude of 2000-feet in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The ancestral cottage is restored carefully to sustain its authenticity while featuring modern amenities to keep up the pace with the changing world. The village of Pragpur has been classified as “Heritage Zone” in the year 1997 because of its ancient touch that still reflects in its slate-roofed buildings with mud-plaster, traditional shops, ornamental tank, as well as the cobbled streets that take you to the village courtyard. From sightseeing to adventure activities, travellers can enjoy various sides of this place that’s traditional and modern at the same time.   Keeping in touch with its original existence, the cottage is actually a huge country manor with a unique interior that reminds you of the Indo-European tradition. The property was built in 19˘18 by Bhandari Ram for his son, Justice Sir Jai Lal, therefore, it’s referred to as “Judge Sahib ki Kothi” by locals. The cottage is set amid 12 acres of land facing Dauladhar Mountains.   The land includes orchards of plum, mango, lychee, and other trees like camphor, cardamom, and clove. The interior is warm and cosy with royal decor items and furnishing to make your stay comfortable. The Judge's Court has ample accommodation of 10 Double Rooms - three out of them are suites inclusive of the lavish cottage resting in the ancestral courtyard. The food prepared here is quite authentic, as it’s cooked with organic vegetables, fruits, wheat, maize, and oilseeds - all of these ingredients are grown in the property’s own fields. Even milk is brought from an owned dairy that’s present on this huge property. Moreover, water is supply is from ancestral mountain spring to give you the real taste of Himalayas.
